Doris Wang,
Consider the following:
Rubber Lined Pipe

Rubber Lined Valves
Overview
Available in both weir and straight through designs and with a number of lining options to suit both aggressive and abrasive line service.
A Type DN20 - 500 (3/4" to 20")
KB Type DN20 - 350 (3/4” to 14”)

Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results

Agree!

Another solution is to use pure quetsch valves (pinch valves) where a mechanical device pinches the outer wall of an elastic, multilayered inner smooth pipe.

By troublesome mixed fluids with hard particles you can either go 'soft' (as previous examples) or hard (most extreme ceramics) or thin (knifegate valves). Best solution is depending on all flow and fluid data.
