How to change shape file attribute precision??

I think this is easy I just can't find the right button.

I've connected (not imported) a s topo shape file with elevation attributes. When I use the Style Editor to display the elevations of the contours, I get this: "12.0000000" instead of "12". I can't find anywhere to change the precision of the elevation if that's how you do it. Nothing seems to work and it really messes up the drawing.

Any ideas.
