thread380-328207
Hi to Foostrap and Ryian.
1. In the thread cited above of three years ago, I wonder if you have confirmed the gas flow requirements on an actual laser given Foostrap's program?
2. Foostrap, I wonder if you could give me the formula that you used for your program so that I may convert it into a spreadsheet? Are you using a basic sonic flow calculation? Unfortunately sonic flow does not tell the whole story as the part creates back pressure so the resulting flow is much lower than that predicted by a sonic flow calculation.
3. Is Trumpf's formula cited by Ryian of 2 x Nozzle Dia x 0.555 x gas pressure (metric) accurate?
4. Does flow depend on manufacturer or is it simply a function of diameter and gas pressure? I understand distance from cutting surface is also to be considered in the calculation.
5. How do you determine weekly gas usage given downtime and part cutting complexity?
Thanks for your response
