How can I setup my catia v5 to have a finer resolution for stl files when it's time to save catpart in STL format???

The only way I know how to change the number of triangles of an stl file is to change your visualtizaion. If you go to Tools/Options/General/Display and select the Performance tab, you can change what your visulizaion accuracy is. The better your 3D accuracy, the finer a mesh you will create.

with Rapid Prototyping workbench, you can chose the sag you want for your STL output. Have fun,
