Imaging a very shallow dome being pressed into the middle of a simply supported beam or any other part combination in which the contact area (surfaces) conceivably change as the loads is applied. How does SW Sim/Comos respond this change? If "No Pentration" is selected does this prevent the "newly formed" contact areas from passing through each other? Conversely, what happens if the parts begin to "peal" apart, again due to deformation, reducing contact area Can anyone shed some light on this issue and/or provide sources for additional study?
Thanks,
Chris
