I am running 2008 2.0 & just want to know if you can turn off the flyout toolbars? I just want to see the regular toolbars.

If you're talking about the Context Toolbars then go to Tools \ Customize and to the right deselect show on selection. I wouldn't recommend doing this because I believe that the Context Toolbars are one genuinely helpful improvement to '08...meaning they actually speed up workflow.

On the other hand, If you are talking about the Flyout toolbar like the ones for Sketch Rectangle and Arc you can remove them and add in the separate icons. You can also turn of the Command Manager as well Right click on the Empty Toolbar area and Deselect "command manager" and you'll be back to your toolbar layout. You might also customize the command manager and add your own tab to show Feature, Sketch, and any other icons on one Toolbar. If you choose the Large Icons with text option you can choose to show text below for Big Icons or just show text on the Right side or hide the text to show icons only stacked in groups of 3 vertically.

An even better method to use is to customize your shortcut toolbar. Why go to the side of the screen for an icon when it can appear at your mouse cursor hit the S key to see what I'm talking about. You can restore S to be your key for supress and make the shortcut bar quick key B. To customize this show the toolbar and Right Click on a gray area and choose Customize. You can drag any icons onto this shortcut toolbar and get to customize it with different icons for each mode Sketch, Part, Assembly, Drawings.

I want to customize the little pop up menu that appears after you have selected a part or surface. Any ideas for that one?

Thanks for the help, we recently installed 2008 on a system with WindowsXP 64 bit and the flyouts appeared on the toolbars. The other station we use has WindowsXP 32 bit and the flyouts don't appear on the toolbars. Is there a difference with the operating systems?
