How do you calculate tie down points for lashing which secure caterpillar dozer. The Dozer needs to be restrained by a Beaver Tail Tray. the weight of the dozer is around 9 T and i need to find the ideal location and the chain that could be used to tie the Dozer to the side of the Truck.

If you can get hold of a copy, EN12195-1 is very good. Even if you aren't in Europe, the laws of physics won't change by much.

Call Caterpillar - I am sure they have ideas if not even hooks already built in for tying.

The tie down points on the caterpillar D5 are known. Since its a heavy vehicle.. a special trailer has been built and i need to figure out the best points to place the restraints. What sort of calculation needs to be carried out?
