How do I size a S Shape monorail beam to hang a 1 ton trolly on?

I want to install a simple straight monorail over several large valves to use a trolly & 1 ton chainfall for maintenance work. I would like to size the beam and do the design myself but I am at a loss for where to find the references I need to begin the design. Can you help me or point me in the right direction?

AISC Steel Construction Manual. The current edition is the 14th. Additionally, you may require ASCE 7 of which 2010 is the most recent addition.

Steel monorail crane construction can be quite challenging even for small jobs due to the moving nature of the load and the interaction with the existing structure. I advise you seek the advice of a structural engineer in your area for guidance if you are not experienced in steel design. I would really hate to hear about an OSHA violation or injury due to a falling 2,000 lb load.

Thank you for the reference information and advice. I am requisitioning the manuals and I plan to hire a Structural Engineer to review any design I come up with before we go to construction.
