How do I create link/global variables in assembly for use on multiple parts

Hello all,

I am currently designing an enclosure assembly and I want my assembly to use a variable/equation to link all the different wall heights together. I tried creating a link variable in 1 part, but noticed when I went to edit the dimension of the next part in the assembly, the variable did not show up. Is there a way to make an assembly where editing 1 dimension can also change the dimension of other parts in the assembly?

Essentially if I change the height of 1 part in my assembly, I want it to also immediately change the height of other parts in my assembly.
