Hi,

See attached diagram. I need to find out the formula of a pipe resting on a cylindrical piece of rigid foam insulation.

The main question is: Is the load dispersed evenly on the bottom half of the cylinder, assuming the pipe is resting evenly on the rigid foam and the outside of the foam is supported? Or is the load lighter on the sides and exponentially growing as it meets the bottom of the cylinder?

Hoping to find formula to calculate what PSI foam i need to support pipe for a product data sheet.

Thank you
