I've entered about 50 tasks, divided among 8 resources, into a Project file. I entered durations for all, but left percent complete at 0 and took defaults on everything else, including start date.
When I select Resource Leveling from the Tools Menu, I would expect the tasks (with no predecessors involved) to be arranged so as to see the project completed at the earliest possible date, but instead they are allocated in some apparently random fashion, with individual resources having inexplicable gaps in their allocations.
When I update the percent complete for each task and again select Resource Leveling, subsequent task start dates do not move up, regardless of whether or not individual tasks have completed early.
Surely there's a way to get Project to calculate this kind of thing--and to recalculate it as durations shift in and out. But I cannot find it.
Any help would be appreciated.
