Connector elements in Abaqus such as hinge are valuable tools. In Abaqus, in the Connector Sections, one can specify the friction coefficient and also it can depend on the field variables. Although, I use the USDFLD subroutine to define fields, no influence happened on the frictions during analysis. My opinion is that the USDFLD is not called during analysis for the connector elements. I am not sure I used a correct subroutine or maybe I miss some option to be enabled.

First you could modify the field variable without subroutine by simply using *Field and an amplitude.

Afterwards you can try again with the subroutine and also write out control data during the run.
