There are lots of alt code tables on the web. Some such as ? and µ can be readily found

Charmap.exe should be available if you are running Windows, Start->Run->Charmap.exe.

Another option for Word, specifically, is to define ampersand codes that Word can autocorrect to the correct symbol. This would allow you to use the mnemonic code, instead of a more obtuse numeric code.
