Holes and Springs

A couple simple questions, hopefully.

1. When using the hole wizard I don't seem to have a counterbore / tapped hole option, or even just a counterbore without a thru hole.

When I use shoulder screws sometimes I like to seat the threaded shoulder end into a counterbore to relieve some of the shear stress from the thread junction. When using the hole wizard I have add a tapped hole then when I add the counterbore it also tries to add a thru hole. In order to get around this I have been adding blind hole with a depth rather than a counterbore. Is there a way to get a counterbore in this situation?

2. What mate do you use to align a compression spring to a counterbore? I have the "spring end plane" to "counterbore bottom plane". But I can't get the option of a concentric mate to place the spring inside the hole.

3. When using compression springs in an assembly (I downloaded the models from Lee spring) how do you take into account the solid height or free length with the model? Or do you simply model the free length then use the measuring tool to make sure you are not bottoming out the spring?

Thanks much.

1) Adding a flat-bottomed drilled hole or cut-extruding a hole is the only way to create the c'bore over a tapped hole. (that I know of)

2) Create an axis through the spring (using 2 main planes) & make it coincident with the c'bore temp axis, or concentric with the c'bore dia.

3) Create configurations of the spring.
