Hi, I need a sanity check on the position check for Datum C. With A Datum being an Axis and B being a Plane, is there enough constraint for a position check on the C Datum hole? It's the orientation of the Hole that is throwing me off. If the hole was orientated longitudinal to the A axis as opposed to the current transverse orientation, it would be a valid check, or is it also valid in this orientation as well?

Below is a simplified representation of the issue.

Ricardo M,

This is a bit of an odd configuration, but I would say that the position tolerance on C is measurable and doesn't violate any rules. The A reference controls two rotational degrees of freedom and two translational degrees of freedom, but only one of the rotations and one of the translations can do anything to cylinder C. The B reference controls one translational DOF.
