Probably a dumb question, but have to ask.

Within the bicycle frame assembly, there's a hinge (sub-assembly) to fold or unfold the frame. In the main assembly, I can't open the hinge (or move it within the "hinge" mating limits) and fold the frame. However, if the hinge ass. file is open and I modify the position of the hinge, the hinge opens to the same position (angle) in the larger assembly. I suppose this is just the way things work?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, to be able to move the hinge in the main assembly, I would have to assemble the hinge components within the same assembly, and not insert it as an already created assembly into the new, larger assembly?

Look in Help for "Flexible" and that should get you on the right path.

Have you read faq731-376 to make the best use of these Forums?

Right click on Hinge sub assy. while in the main bicylcle assy. & go to Component properties.

Select flexible in right bottom corner.

You need to resolve the assy. before doing it.

Hope that helps.

Much better than I was hoping for. In both replies got the answer that makes the hinge open/close. For being detailed and right on spot, a star for Gurjeet.
