I am working on a project as an intern, and this is my problem. A water/oil solution of thickness 1/16"-1/8" is transferred on a strip of steel 37" wide, travelling horizontally at 4500 feet/min. I have been assigned the task of "wiping" the solution from top surface of the strip using compressed air through a header of approx. 70 psi. I am using 21 1/4" NPT Windjet nozzles. The clincher is that I have not taken fluid mechanics yet. Is 70 psi an adequate pressure, and what considerations should I account for in nozzle angle? I have uploaded a pdf file of the header assy I have already generated.
