I am currently buying a 'High Tack/Anti Flick Silcone Gear Grease' from my machine manufacturer at an extremely over inflated price. I have been trying to source the product but have had no success.
It is as tacky as a 'silicone sealant' you can buy from a hardware shop, yet it does not set, it always stays in its wet state as a silicone would.
It is clear in colour and comes in normal silicone style tubes, however im not bothered how it is supplied.
If anybody can help that would be superb, many thanks

If you are prepared to risk your your equipment on poor lubrication, I've found that if you heat uncured RTV to 300 of 400F in sealed container it will no longer cure. It is very sticky.

what type of gearing is this stuff used on. I was under the impression silicone was not good for metal mechanical power transmition (used for pastic components though)

Something like this?
