Hello all,

I am working on a project where i need to control the flow of a hot Nitrogen line (300C) at a pressure of 7000 psi. I need to be able to control it electronically. However, i couldn't find a solenoid valve with these specifications. If someone knows a company that sells such valves please let me know.

I am also open for other suggestions regarding the valve type just in case solenoids are not most suited type for the job.

Thank you,
Ahmed Zeid

A hot valve like that will use a remote solenoid valve to control a nitrogen or air pilot line to actuate the hot valve.

Solenoid implies on/off.

"Control" implies a modulating action.

Which one is it.

Also what sort of size are we talking here?

Thanks for your replies. I am talking about a solenoid valve as in on-off. Pipe size is half an inch external diameter, 1/4 inch internal diameter.

You need an air actuated valve to do this, using a solenoid valve to operate the air actuator. You will not find a solenoid valve for such a service.

The highest temp solenoid valve I see on the net is 250degC. Can you install this solenoid valve upstream of the nitrogen heater instead ?

Like you mentioned, there were no such valves on the internet. I couldn't find any. Unfortunately, I can't place the valve elsewhere other than the pipeline itself.
I see a lot of replies talking about a pneumatic valve where the air intake is controlled by a solenoid valve. I start looking into that.

Thank you all for your replies.

You may want to start with companies that make 20k psi valves. Most have options listed at a lower 10k.

Options are NLB, Haskell, High Pressure Equipment, etc. Many are designed for water jet applications - make sure they can be used for air service.
