Hex bar conical end chamfer.. - shape as would result from simple turning operation..

Hi Guys,
I am using NX6. Trying to create a conical chamfer on the end of a hex bar - the same shape which I need would result if you chucked up the bar in a lathe and simply cut a chamfer on the end of it with a tool in the tool post. How do I do this in NX6?

Extrude a circle with draft and subtract from the hex. You could revolve a triangle cross section to cut away material from the hex. I am sure there are many other ways.

I tried extruding a circle with draft and subtracting from the hex which is what I am looking for however I get the error message 'the tool splits the target into multiple bodies' - any idea?

Ok, I extrude as sheet and then trim which works..

Any other methods to do the same thing just for interest?

When you extrude use 2 sided offset for your circle at the bottom of your extrude dialogue box. Set one value to zero set the other to like a .1 then you do not have to do a trim body.
