Helppp....Drafting don’t open!

Hallo, im using Catia V5 for student, so till yesterday the program worked normally, but today I’m trying to open the drafting but that don’t work! When i go to Drafting i get this the Filewindows instead the drafting page. Please i need help

No no, i mean..yesterday i opned the drafting and it worked normally, i didn’t save anything. But today i needed ti draft the Modell, but drafting don’t open, evey time i get the files windows instead the drafting page

1. Open the 3D model first before you start a new drawing, and

2. Make sure the current window is a part or assembly when you start a new drawing

Use FILE + Open to open the existing drawling

Use File + New to make a new drawing

Thank you for trying helping me! I tried it, as u said, with File+Open. But that doesn’t work (( , i take a screenshot to schow you the error message which i got when i do File+.
I don’t understand

I don't understand either. Did you follow the message and use File + New From to open it?

Is it possible that you already have the drawing open in another window?

When was the last time you shutdown your computer and restarted it?

i did this yesterday already! But i didn’t work with drafting since 2 weeks, because the drawing problems still since more them two week.

Are you sure you have a drawing in the folder to open? Maybe the drawing is in a different folder? The partial list you attached doesn't show any drawings in that folder.

Use File Explorer to find the drawing you are trying to open. Then double-click on the drawling file to open it.

the Problem that the Drafting function doesn’t work, that’s the problem. Actually i don’t have a saved Drawing File anywhere, because i can‘t open the drawing to done to done it. That‘s what i tried to explain! The problem
Isn’t to open a Folder! The problem is that i can‘t open the Drawing page in the Mechanical design or to access to Drawing!! When i click on Drawing, i get always the Partdesign windows instead Drawing page

Okay, I think I finally understand the problem and what you have been trying to ask for almost a month:

You have been using the Student version of CATIA V5 to make 3D parts. And everything is working normally. Then you tried to make a drawing, but you don't get the new drawing window.

If this is correct, here are the steps I use to make a new drawing:

1. First open the CATPart file of the part you want to use for the drawing.
2. File + New and then choose Drawing in the lower pop-up window
3. In the New Drawing popup window, choose a Standard (ISO) and choose a Sheet Style (such as a A3 paper size) and click OK
4. A blank drawing frame should appear in a new window. You can now start adding views of the 3D part.

I tried it, but doesn’t work. When i click Drawing, it’s no drafting page or fonction open. Still the same Error message. This thing is making me crazy, nobody know how can i get the drafting again in my Catia. Thats like that Drafting no exist in my programm.

i think i have to do something in the configuration, because the drafting isn’t acting. I don’t know if i have to reset it, or something lile this, that Drafting will activated like in the start

Try deleting the files in your catsettings folder, Or temporarily move them to a different folder. Catia will recreate them as needed, but you will loose any settings that you modified that aren't default. Do a Google search on where to find your catsettings folder if your unsure.
