Help! With Gear data line item-generate shape in 3d catia

Guys, Is there an easy feature/macro of the Catia V5 and/or I-deas software to take line item drawing info to build a gear or spline from in 3D or do you have to buy an add on program. I know you can draw the gear teeth by scratch and rotate/sweep for an extruded gear, but I was told that there are thousands of macros available to just plug in the gear teeth data and the software automatically generates the 3D model? Thanks for any info.
Or any good books on Gear design?
