I'm preparing a document about gravity-fed systems, pump systems and pressure drops.

And I have a few quetions:

1) What are some characteristics of this kind of systems?
2) what are some recomendations about the do's and dont's so the pressure drops won't be so big?
3) what are some of the main causes of pressure drops in any kind of systems?
4) How can cavitation be avoided?

Thanks,
José

1) Be more specific
2)Make your inlet piping as short as possible. Avoid valves, filters and other fitting if possible. Use a large diamter in inlet piping
3) Usually it will be a specific somponents such as a valve, checkvale or maybe a filter.
4) NPSHa>NPSHr

Best regards Morten
