HI. Can anybody help regarding info on cable colour codings in accordance to EN 60204 14.2 standard. In particular relating to 415V 3PH electrical control panel wiring, 24V AC and DC control circuits, and for systems destined for the UK.
Any help on this would be most appreciated.
Cheers. John.

If you are wiring to EN 60204-1, then in my opinion the colours stated above do not apply. I agree they are used regularely in field wiring and installations etc, but for control panel wiring EN60204-1 states:

"It is recommended that insulated conductors be colour-coded as follows:"

- BLACK: a.c. and d.c. power ccts;
- RED: a.c. control ccts;
- BLUE: d.c. control ccts;
- ORANGE: interlock control ccts supplied externally.

A lot of authorities have there own standards to wire to (ie Water, Petro-chem etc), that will deviate from EN60204-1.

Post your email, and i can send you the page from EN60204-1 relating to these colours (there are notes relating to the Neutral etc).
