I have been using Geartrax for years and quite satisfied with the product. Greg Hottman (I think spelled it correctly) the owner is a one man show that has all the answers to your gear problems. One seat cost about 800 bucks for the standalone and a bit more for a floating license. And is well worth it! Beware that if your using the helical and herringbone gears for NC machining, that is not supported by Geartrax at this time. This is due to the complexity of the geometry. Spur Gears and Splines are supported by the software package for NC. Geartrax has the capabilities of modifying circular tooth thickness when needed to deviate from the standard, as well as many other modifiers.
Geartrax also has a nice drawing chart tool that can be inserted into your drawing and also complies with the ANSI B92.1. It’s a wonderful “Add On” to SW for all of you Gearheads that is sick and tried of drawing an involute manually! I wish it was available when on was using CATIA, and still isn’t…..
