HEC-RAS: Water Surface Elevations 1

I'll be brief here. I'm constructing a HEC-RAS model and I'm wondering what the best source for water surface elevation (WSE) is. It's been a while since I've used this application but I think I need to establish a boundary condition for each storm event I plan on "running". In my case, flow is subcrittical so my boundary condition will be downstream of the area I'm concerned about (a few culvert crossings). I've placed an order through FEMA for the Flood Insurance Study (FIS) data. However, the FEMA FIS limits don't reach our area of interest and I don't want to build the model to that point (FIS limit). Any advice would be appreciated.

In the absence of any other water surface elevations, you would use the normal depth and provide extra x-sections downstream of your area of interest to allow the calculation to settle.
