Guys, I have a welding question need your comments.

A vessel is impact tested. The maximum heat input in PQR is 16.8KJ/cm. The maximum heat input in WPS is 25.2KJ/cm.

In ASME IX QW-409.1
An increase in heat input, or an increase in volume of weld metal deposited per unit length of weld, over that qualified.....

Based on ASME IX, the increase (25.2-16.8=8.4) is less than the qualified (16.8KJ/cm). We do not need re-qualified the WPS. Am I right?

Thanks.

No. Why is your maximum heat input for the WPS > than the PQR? Your increase over that qualified means anything over 16.8 must be re-qualified to the higher heat input value.
