I need to develop an economical small preheat exchanger on the exhaust of a 1400F oxidizer/burner @ 300scfm inlet airflow expanded to ACFM @ 1400F.
I need to keep the DP low
I will run at 1400F inlet on the hot side and 150F inlet on the cold side.
Questions I have:
Is there a simple generic equation for determining efficiency based on basic transfer properties.
Best material for 1400F. I am thinking 309 or 409SS tubing.
My plan is not to do a plate and frame due to thermal expansion concerns, but rather a shell and tube design.
Any assistance is apppreciated.
