Hello,

To design our tubular heat-exchanger with rod bafles we are using HTRI software. The software uses a correlation from Phillips Petroleum compagny. However, we have some concern on the obtained results with a rod baffles design which are not coherent.

I would like to check the pressure drop, performance results and vibration analysis with an Excel file, but I don´t find any documentation related with rod bafles design.

If you have information on this subject it would be helpful.

Thank you in advance

David

A heat exchanger company would be the best possibility to obtain the information you want. As you probably found out, Various literature text give only a small amount of information.

Send a PO to your fabricator (who is licensed to build PRB).
They will then design it and send you the data concerning performance (thermal and flow).
Being a proprietary system you won't find enough information in public sources to do a detailed design.
These units typically have lower shell side pressure drop and higher shell side heat transfer, along with good vibration suppression. If these features don't add value to your application then you need to ask more questions.
