Has anyone studied ACAD overseas? (6 months program)

I want to study ACAD along with a couple more units in the states and i wanted to see if anyone has gone through a similar experinence or know someone else that has.
what steps are involved?
How long the process takes, visa, college confirmation ... etc ?
