I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with VariCAD as a design tool. The cost is attractive and it works in Linux, which is nice. I'm wondering how well it handles more complicated tasks like layouts and assemblies. Can it generate parasolids or IGES files for analysis?

I was looking for a good CAD package for Linux and all the research I've done points to VariCAD. I've also read a few positive reviews, but I'm not sure if the reviewers use it everyday. Thanks for the input.

I don't know much about varyCAD, but was very impressed with Draftsight.

Thanks for the reply.

I looked at Draftsight, but it seemed to be primarily 2D. Can it generate 3D solids? Assemblies?
