HI

I have previously done the Red Seal exam for Electrical in Canada. But I would like to now challenge the exam for instrumentation the other trade I have in Australia.

I was just wondering if anyone had any information on stuff to study? The electrical is very code based and there are cds that can help.

I did a practise exam I found at the red seal site and did quite well but I still would like to know more

thanks!

The Red Seal exam is a new one on me.
I have TQ electrical and Instrumentation in Canada.

If that's all you have to answer, looks pretty simple.
I did my Interprovincial many years ago, I don't think it was called Red Seal back then.

To the guys that have done the exam in the past , was there many questions on the electrical code? or was it all process control stuff?

I plan on writing my sometime in the near future, I was trowing around the idea of going to Australia and upgrading my engineering degree there for Instrumentation.

I did fairly well in college so how is the exam compared to school?

Adam I'm not sure what you have to do to qualify , i do know a british guy that came over and got certified so I may be able to find out

I think you will be very impressed with the work in Aus thou ;)

Really good money, good conditions, 4-5 weeks holidays a year minimum and excellent safety

pretty diverse test actually. It is mainly assembly plant orientated...gotta know op amps and what not. Contact a provincial apprenticeshiop board and they will be able to give you a test segment breakdown, and likely a study guide.
