I manufacture ceramic parts from fiber, silicon carbride and cement. Once parts have been processed I need a good reliable hardness tester. has anyone used a hardness tester(vicker unit) for testing ceramic materials. I would like to know what unit you have had success with. This is going to be a new process for us as old tester was not a quality unit. I am starting over fresh without prior equipment bias. My part are on average 25kg, fairly large parts and test bars.
