Greetings!
I am looking for some experience in helping me maximize how to best use electronic testing assets. We have been given 32 units to test. The original test plans was to put 1 unit through HALT, then with the given life parameters through the HALT test on the one unit, subject another single unit to HASS. Then they would just run the remaining 30 units in a regular operational environmental test hoping to "demonstrate" reliability with these units (which I have already shown them is not possible with the high MTBF we are hoping to "demonstrate" in the limited time).
It seems to me that only putting one item through HALT and one through HASS doesnt give you much confidence in identifying life limits and failure mechanisms. Does anybody know of a methodology to help maximize the number of units one should use in HALT/HASS? Or does anyone have good ways to show what is the best manner to use these 32 test units to ensure and improve reliability?
