Hallo!

Can anybody explain me what is Point Mobility ? and What is a Transfer function?
What is the relation between these two ?
The resons I am asking these questions are I have to run point mobility analysis for an engine mount bracket which is coming on to a cradle.

Regards

In terms of vibration testing, a transfer function is usually a function of frequency which describes the relationship between two quantities, for example, the relationship between acceleration level of a cylinder block (a) and the resulting noise level in a passenger compartment (L) may be given as L/a. One quantity is usually considered the input and one the output. At each frequency, the transfer function may be expressed as a complex number or as a magnitude and phase.

Point mobility is a type of transfer function which describes the relationship between force applied to a structure (F) and the velocity response of that structure (v), when the force and response are measured AT THE SAME POINT on the structure.

Mobility = F/v.
