We have a project in which a detention pond is being constructed for the site. The contractor has excavated the pond, but we noticed that water began to pond at the bottom of the pond. Needless to say, we have a groundwater condition. I have never encountered this on any other projects. Not sure what the steps would be to correct the issue. We were thinking of adding a foot of cover over the bottom of the pond, but it is most likely that the groundwater will continue to appear. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
