Anyone have experience with boardwalk pedestrian trails? We are designing a greenway and a portion of the route travels parallel to some steep rocky slopes were the only option will be some sort of trail built on stilts. The location is some what remote so large equipment will not be accessible to the trail area. Any ides?

I don't have any experience, unless you count walking on them. But your State Forestry, U.S. Forest Service and the Corps of Engineers have a couple centuries worth of history.

good luck

Be aware that some local requirements state that a "greenway" needs to support an emergency vehicle (ie ambulance).

It's pretty crazy but I ran into that problem once.
