Hello, My engineering education came through the Navy's Nuclear Propulsion Program,Mechanical division. All of my reference material is military code. I need to acquire a GPSA Engineering data book.Does any one know where I can find such a book.

English & SI Versions

The all new Eleventh Edition of the GPSA Engineering Data Book is now available in two versions: FPS (English units) and SI (metric units). Both versions are also now available on CD-ROM. Both versions consist of a two-volume compilation of basic design information, together with the latest technical data and approved procedures for use by gas processing personnel to determine operating and design parameters for hydrocarbon processing and related facilities. They are intended to aid design engineers, who in spite of increasing availability of computer programs and other sophisticated design methods, require a general reference book as a guide to accepted engineering practice for estimating, feasibility studies, preliminary design, and for making on-site operating decisions.

All twenty-six sections of both versions have been updated and one entirely new section has been written on Hydrocarbon Recovery. Both versions of the Eleventh Edition are published in an 800 page, two volume loose leaf format to accommodate periodic updates so as to keep current with changing technology and improved data when available. The FPS Version uses the traditional units used in the U.S.A.--foot, pound, second; while the SI Version uses the recognized International System of Units as set forth in ASTM E-380 "Standard Metric Practices".

About the Engineering Data Book
The GPSA Engineering Data Book was first published in 1935 as a booklet containing much advertising and little technical information. In subsequent editions, technical data expanded and the Data Book gradually became the design and operating "bible" for the gas processing and related industries. Approximately 260,000 copies of this authoritative publication have been distributed by GPSA. The book has been compiled by a joint editorial committee composed of technical specialists from both GPSA and GPA. This committee known as the GPSA Editorial Review Board continually reviews and revises the manual. Periodic revisions are issued to holders of record to keep the manual up to date with technology and industry practices.

The Gas Processors Supplier Association (GPSA) was formed in 1928 as the Natural Gasoline Supply Men’s Association (NGSMA). Its principal purpose was a service organization to the parent Natural Gasoline Association of America (NGAA). Both organizations underwent name changes in subsequent years in response to changing industry conditions. In 1961, the organizations became known as the Natural Gas Processors Association (NGPA) and the Natural Gas Processors Suppliers Association (NGPSA). In 1974 the names changed to Gas Processors Association (GPA) and the Gas Processors Suppliers Association (GPSA). Users of the Data Book will note numerous references throughout the book may refer to publications of these organizations by the names in effect at the time of publication.

Changes in the 11th Edition
In March, 1998, the 11th Edition of the GPSA Engineering Data Book was released. The new edition has been completely revised for the first time in ten years. Probably the most exciting part of that news for the international gas processing industry is that for the first time in almost 18 years, we have an up-to-date metric version of this important industry resource.

The all new Eleventh Edition of the GPSA Engineering Data Book is available in two versions: FPS (English units) and SI (metric units). Both versions are also now available on CD-ROM. Given below is a summary of the changes that have been made in the Eleventh Edition of the Engineering Data Book:

Volume 1 Section 1 - General Information - General update plus conversion to SI Section 2 - Product Specifications- General update plus conversion to SI Section 3 - Measurement - Major simplification revision plus conversion to SI. In a time of electronic calculators and personal computers, many tables in this section were replaced by simple equations resulting in the number of pages in this section being reduced by 25%.

Section 4 - Instrumentation - General update plus conversion to SI.

Section 5 - Relief Systems - General update plus conversion to SI.

Section 6 - Storage - General update plus conversion to SI. In addition, even though the tables of coefficients for partial volumes of horizontal cylinder, spherical, and ellipsoid tanks were left in this section, the equations for those coefficients are now included for the first time. This allows those users who wish to do so to calculate the coefficients rather than use the tables.

Section 7 - Separators and Filters - General update plus conversion to SI.

Section 8 - Fired Equipment - Major revision plus conversion to SI.

Section 9 - Heat Exchangers - Additional types of exchangers covered plus conversion to SI.

Section 10 - Air Cooled Exchangers - General update plus conversion to SI.

Section 11 - Cooling Towers - General update including new worldwide wet bulb/dry bulb data and SI conversion.

Section 12 - Pumps & Hydraulic Turbines - General revision plus conversion to SI.

Section 13 - Compressors and Expanders - General update plus conversion to SI.

Section 14 - Refrigeration - General update plus conversion to SI.

Section 15 - Prime Movers - General revision including new specifications and ratings for an expanded listing of gas turbines and internal combustion engines plus conversion to SI.

Volume II Section 16 - Hydrocarbon Recovery - This is an all new Section of the Data Book which discusses more than twenty gas processing schemes from dew point control of natural gas to deep ethane recovery to liquefaction of natural gas and nitrogen rejection.

Section 17 - Fluid Flow and Piping - General update and SI conversion.

Section 18 - Water Treating - General update and SI conversion.

Section 19 - Fractionation - General update and SI conversion.

Section 20 - Dehydration - General revision including new materials on some proprietary dehydration processes plus SI conversion.

Section 21 - Hydrocarbon Treating - General update and SI conversion.

Section 22 - Sulfur Recovery - General update and SI conversion.

Section 23 - Physical Properties - General revision including a complete update of Table 23-2 on physical properties of hydrocarbons by Texas A&M University plus SI conversion.

Section 24 - Thermodynamic Properties - Major revision including all new pressure enthalpy (PH) diagrams by Colorado School of Mines for all the major constituents of natural gas plus SI conversion.

Section 25 - Equilibrium Ratio (K) Data - Major revision including additional equations of state and a significant reduction of the number of K value charts plus SI conversion.

Section 26 - GPSA Members List - Complete revision of the list of GPSA members including addresses, phone numbers, and fax numbers. In addition, a new feature was added that lists the companies by the type of equipment they supply or the service they provide.
