I wanted to know if anyone has used Gore Style 800 Universal Pipe Gaskets. These gaskets seem almost too good to be true, especially since our maintenance staff has been reduced in the past few years and re-torquing gaskets has taken back seat to more pressing issues. Most of our processes are low pressure (150# flanges) in services that require teflon or a comparable resistant material. These gaskets apparently require no re-torque. I'm just looking for any experience with installing these, success/failure stories, etc. before we go ahead and test these out

I have used Gore Series 300 on a high temperature hot water split case pump that was leaking. The stuff DID work like magic. Even the pump repair facility and the end user picked some up afterwards (it is expensive). Not sure about the 800, but the 300 is rated to 600 Deg F and 1000 psig.
NOTE: I am not affiliated with Gore, really just a user!!

I'm very skeptical every time the word Gore shows up ;)

Thanks for the insight steamdog.
