If you want to search a specific Eng-Tips forum you can do the following:

- find the forum number (see red box in picture)
googletip.gif

- open a Google window

- enter in the box: "site:.eng-tips.com inurl:559" and your keywords (see picture)
googletip2.gif

- Replace the 559 with your forum number
- Enter your keywords, it doesn't matter if you include them before or after "site:" and "inurl:"

** note, it is possible to get results outside the forum, you actually limit your search to results containing the forum number in the url, but it works well enough.
