Hi,

I would like to know if there is difference between glue and adhesive? Is it adhesive has two parts but glue?

Does the material behavior vary from glue to paste adhesive, film adhesive and tape? Thank you!

Just spelling and number of syllables. In common speech glue is more common. In professional literature adhesive is more common.

An old-dog of an engineer once told me the difference between 'glues' and 'adhesives'... as closely as I can remember it...

"NEVER bet Your life on a glued joint."

I wonder if those methods used to assess adhesive joint such as shear/ peel calculations and traction-separation for cohesive are applicable to glue joint also?
