Global setting for "Display as chain dimension." for ordinate dims?

My ordinate dimensions always appear with arrows and I have to right click the dimension, select properties, and uncheck "Display as chain dimension.". If I go into the document properties->dimensions there is no setting there to enable this by default.

Curiously, if I autodimension a view with ordinate dimensions, they automatically appear without arrows.

Can anyone help?

Your Document Template is set to DIN or another as a standard dimensioning style. If you change it to ANSI, you will not get the chain ordinate dimensioning all the time.

I am quite familiar with this problem... I have to change it for every single set of ordinate dimensions I make, and I can't change my standard as our German counterpart sets the standard we must follow. You learn to right click, hit E, then uncheck chain dimensions, and click ok... and you learn to do it REAL fast after a while, lol.
