I'm rather new to this whole GIS stuff, so please be kind :) I want to find the platted corners, bearings, etc of a parcel. The county in which the parcel is located gives out a shape file for ArcGIS Explore. Assuming they made the shapefiles off of drawings of record. Now if the shapefiles on there have the area and size of the parcel are listed on there, and its able to be overlaid onto a google basemap, shouldn't I be able to extract the coordinates of the corners from the file? I tried reading the help and well that's no help as usual. Please help!

GIS data doesn't have the required accuracy. However, the plat is public record and will have the coordinates on for the lot corners, or at least, enough information to determine them once you have tied the legal description to a benchmark of known coordinates in whichever coordinate system you want the coordinates.
