hi, sorry for my ignorance, i have a hybrid concrete and cmu shear wall system modeled with several steel and wood roof beams, etc.. I want to be able to get the total dead load. I created a load combination, (DL)and ran a single combination analysis. this where i im stuck.. what's the easiest way to have risa sum and display the total dead loads?

Not sure I understand. The applied loads can be displayed when you display that load combination. If you want the program to sum up all the loads into a single total value, then look at your Joint reactions spreadsheet. The program will report the reaction for each point as well as the total reactions for each direction.

It the basic loadcase spread sheet find any empty row and put DL under the Category column and -1 under your virtical axis column. Default is usually Y. You can place whatever you want in the BLC Description I usually type self weight. Then you can run your load case and look at your joint reactions spreadsheet for total self weight.
