Generic LP: elimination from objective function?

I have a Linear Programming objective function to minimize. Given 5 properties with varying costs, a new property is to be created with minimal cost. For the new property requirement, it seems that 3 existing properties are sufficient and 2 others unnecessary. What my question is can those 2 properties be totally eliminated from the objective function and the constraints to reduce computation effort?
