I have a large number of drawings in generic CAD format .gcd that need importing into AutoCAD R2000. Is there any software that is capable of importing them as a job lot (or individually)? If not does anybody have any bright ideas on a VB macro that might be able to achieve the same result.

can u create DXF files and import them into ACAD?

Damien,
You probably have a solution by now. If not there is a program called AutoVue which can read gcd drawings and batch convert them into dxf format which AutoCad can read. If you wish you can open the dxf file with AutoCAD and save it as a dwg format.
You may find though that the file size is increased from the gcd size. Other than that there is no problem.
If you are interested drop me a line and I will give you more details on AutoVue.
PS the batch conversion is real easy and quick.
I did 109 drawings in 2 minutes.
