I need to add a tolerance to ensure the concentricity/total runout of a threaded rod. M12 x 1.75 - 85mm long. Their are no other features of the part other than the circular ends. 2 of these parts are threaded into ends of an over molded part to form a single rod with not electric link between ends. The resulting assembly moves axially about 17mm.
We are at the mercy of the COTS molded parts tolerances so we need to add some axial control to our threaded rods to keep the assembly's axial motion as "axial" as possible.
Given that their are no other features on this part I'm not sure how to do this. What is the best way to tolerance this part so that it can actually be measured?
