Hi,
I'm referring to the old there above,
Still referring to ACI 318-05 appendix D. Sure there's a new one, but let's just say i can not access the 08 version (or even newer one, if it does exist).
So i'm still confuse with the formula in ACI D.5.4.2, which says, as below:
For multiple headed anchors (bla bla) Nsbg = (1 + s/6.ca1) x Nsb. In which Nsbg = side face blowout failure for group of anchors. Nsb is for single anchor. Perhaps my english is not enough, provided it's not my mother languange, but in explanation it said s = spacing of outer anchors along the edge in the group. What does this mean? Let say i have 4 anchors in one line, does the "s" value mean distance between two side-by-side anchors, basically first one to 2nd, 2nd one to 3rd one and finally 3rd one to 4th one, or "s" means distance between the furthest apart anchors (1st anchor to 4th one)? Because it' not making sense to me, when considering only distance between two anchors to analyze a line of let's say, to make it extreme, 6 anchors. Which also means the other 4 anchors does not contribute to side face blowout strength at all. And if it is true that "s" means distance of neighboring anchors, which value of "s" do you take, if there are more than one value distance (let's say s1, s2, and so on).
I would appreciate if someone could respond to this query of me in near time.
thx,
