Fuller Thomson Equation Derivation 1

Hello, I am looking into ideal particle sizes to achieve max-density and came across the Fuller Thomson equation for ideal gradation

%P = (d/Dmax)^n

Where d is particle size,
Dmax is maximum particle size found in a mix,
and n is a constant.

Fuller Thomson assumes n is 0.5 for spherical particles, others have suggested different coefficients based on shape parameters. I am dealing with nearly square particles of varying sizes.

I am interested if anyone can point me in the direction of a derivation of the Fuller Thomson equation at the "n" coefficient so I might find the right "n" value for my application.
