Gents,

Fuel cells surely are a big issue in the press, news and forums everywhere nowadays. Fuel cells and more specific, hydrogen technology, shall solve our energy problems!

This attitude is stupid, because producing hydrogen is the major issue and not to develop fuel cells (by the way, I guess commercially available fuel cells are still less efficient than good conventional power plants).
As long as you gain hydrogen out of oil (state of the art), the whole technology is insanely inefficient.
If you gain hydrogen with the help of regenerative energies (solar, wind), hydrogen technology has to compete with other technologies such as direct conversion into electricity or also biodiesel.

I would like to know more sound figures about efficiencies and comparisons which usually are not published by the hydrogen lobby (for good reasons).

Thanks owg, seems like an interesting article, stuff to read for the weekend, maybe I have to re-think some opinions afterwards?!
